Homecoming 250 Navy Marine Corps is a Pennsylvania charitable corporation whose volunteers work without compensation. All contributions go directly to cover the expenses of organizing and hosting the Navy and Marine Corps 250th celebrations.

Homecoming 250 is responsible to fund the construction of the Monitor, just as the Tun Legacy Foundation is responsible to fund the recreation of Tun Tavern. We believe the Navy and Marine Corps will cover the operations cost of operating the active-duty ships, aircraft, and personnel utilized in their 250th anniversary celebrations, but the federal, state, or local governments are not obliged to, and may not choose to, cover any of the remaining costs of the celebrations. We appreciate the generous donations of people like you, and organizations like our Sponsors, to make these 250th celebrations possible.

Homecoming 250 Navy Marine Corps (“Organization”) filed its application for tax exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code with the IRS on July 30, 2021. Upon its approval, the Organization’s tax-exempt status will be recognized retroactively to its date of incorporation, May 19, 2021. Contributions made to the Organization while its application for tax exemption is pending will be tax deductible only if the Organization’s application is ultimately approved by the IRS. Therefore, while we anticipate IRS approval, donors to the Organization do not have advance assurance of tax-deductibility while its application for exemption is pending. We will let donors know when the Organization’s application is ruled on by the IRS.
